I was out walking the dog in the rain and I found the third one of these things within a km of me. This one’s my favorite: an overland setup.

Now that’s a good looking Delica.

I’ve seen a few around the Bay Area, some with WA plates, probably Canadian imports and others were imported right side drive. I would like a nice one, diesel!

I occasionally shop for these online... ir would make for an interesting replacement for my current offroad rig.

You can import them for not that much, but as much as I’d love to have one they’re too unsafe for my risk-averse ass to drive on the highway.

Are you in Canada? The later generation are importable and have airbags, IIRC.
To be sure, the kids are better protected in a more modern vehicle, but we can’t go out expecting to be in a fatal accident every day. And we can’t always live a perfectly safe life. You make your own luck, to a certain degree.
Besides, with a rig like that, you’re only gonna want to do 90 km/h anywhere less straight than the prairies. Put on some tunes and just chill out.

Naw, I’m in the United States so I can only get the really old, unsafe ones. Though honestly the newer ones are not appealing to me since they don’t have a frontend that looks like a grinning pig.
I’m not totally against getting an unsafe vehicle, but I don’t think it makes sense for a vehicle whose main purpose would be to go for long distances while holding the people & animals that I love the most.
